Imagine this...  An online, nationally available service that allows Teen Challenge centers the ability to manage their students from intake to graduation and beyond. Secure. Easy to use. Centralized. Up-to-the-minute statistics/reporting. And so much more.

Every residential center handles student management one way or another.

Somehow, we have to deal with all the forms, documents, letters, checklists, records, etc. associated with accepting a student into the Teen Challenge program. Some might have little more than several big stacks of paper in a back room somewhere, while others may have organized their files into folders and cabinets, and still others have embraced technology and are now using a software solution of one kind or another.

A few years ago, a committee was formed at a national strategic planning meeting to research the possibility of building a web service with the project name: Backbone. Though we experienced several setbacks, the committee has been re-established and is excited about the possiblities ahead.

The concept is to develop a website with the primary purpose of providing basic student management and record-keeping for any residential center. With a focus on centralization and standardization of data, a secondary benefit of verifiable, instant outcome studies and grant-necessary statistical analysis becomes apparent. These benefits would benefit your local center, your admin office, your state, your region and the entire organization in ways we are only beginning to imagine.
